This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and the "China Vietnam Cultural Exchange Year". Trade cooperation between China and ASEAN countries is deepening, and cross-border logistics demand continues to grow. Railway transportation is favored by many cross-border merchants due to its significant advantages such as large capacity, low-carbon environmental protection, all-weather operation, and low cargo loss.
Yang Kaiwei, Deputy General Manager of China Post Guangxi International Business Branch, introduced that the company mainly serves the export of electronic products, auto parts, building materials, and postal resources across the country. Previously, cross-border logistics business was mainly carried out through road transportation, but this is the first attempt to ship by railway.
Compared with the previous cross-border logistics mode mainly through road transportation, railway transportation can save about 26 hours at the fastest, providing a more convenient and efficient transportation solution for manufacturing enterprises to 'go global', "said Yang Kaiwei.
Xie Xiaomei, a staff member of the Nanning Railway Logistics Center of China Railway Nanning Bureau, introduced that in order to ensure the smooth operation of the special train, the railway department has closely cooperated with China Post Group Guangxi Branch to proactively meet customer needs, optimize loading plans, track business processing, vehicle allocation, loading and unloading organization, and ensure the safe and efficient shipment of goods.
According to statistics, as of May 15th, the cumulative shipment of goods by China Vietnam trains originating from Guangxi in 2025 was 14556 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 314%. The China Vietnam freight train transported 366 goods, with sources radiating to 25 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China. Cross border goods covered ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Among the heavy vehicles and container goods exported from China to Vietnam via railway transportation, the volume sent from Nanning International Railway Port accounts for 78% and 90% respectively.
